Kothimbir Vadi | Kothimbir wadi recipe

Maharastrian snack- Tea time snack- no onion no garlic recipe

Kothimbir- vadi
Kothimbir vadi | kothimir vadi is a Maharastrian snack. It is similar to the muthia recipe but it is steamed and deep fried. But you can pan fry it with little oil too. I wanted to give this for the no onion no garlic recipe supplement book which i have given for Kungumam thozi last year, but last minute i don't have time to make this. But i have this in my list to try. Few weeks back when i visited my Maharastrian friends for Ganesha chathurthi, while talking about food they were mentioning about kothimbir vadi. Though i roughly know the idea of how to make this recipe, but the inputs from all them was very useful. So finally i made this 2 days back at home and we all liked it very much. Recipe of rava dosa with Video

Rava -dosai
If you wonder on reading the title of the post, yes it is Rava dosa recipe only. IT has been six years now i have been blogging but never posted this recipe of rava dosa in jeyashri's kitchen. Some how during my childhood days it was never made at my house. Whenever we go to eat out, my parents will order for Onion Rava Dosa and me and my sister will order Parrota. Always out neighbour aunty makes rava dosa and many times she either call us when she is making or send it to home too. So i always have the inhibition to try out this Rava dosa at home. It has been a request from my readers for a very long time and finally i asked the recipe from that aunty, and got it perfect for the first time. Then i wondered why i was such reluctant to try this recipe at home and keep on postponing for a long time. Now Rava dosa i make at home once a week and all of us are a big fan of crispy rava dosa. Try this rava dosa at home and let me know your feedback. Check out my crsipy dosa recipe and Instant wheat flour dosa too. I halved the original recipe given by her. Kumbakonam Kadappa | Kadappa recipe

Side dish for idli| dosa|poori|chapathi

kumbakonam- kadappa
Kumbakonam kadappa| Kadappa , the name itself is quite new for many of us. It is a very simple gravy which pairs very well with Idli, dosapoori | chapathi. I have heard about this a lot from my cousins but never tasted it at home. My mom's side this a very popular gravy. Except my mom every one at her home makes this gravy. Somehow i never had a chance to taste this too even i visited my mam's house. But all my cousins are a very big fan of this kadappa. Recently during our group chat in what's app, one of my cousin who lives in US, searched for Kadappa recipe in jeyashri's kitchen but he couldn't find it. He was telling me about that. I said i never tasted that and also i don't mind posting it if someone here tell me how to make  Kumbakonam kadappa. As we all live in different time zones, one of my cousin came as a saviour and shared the recipe with a voice note. When i tried it last week, i loved it very much. It went well with idli and we had it for dosa too for dinner too. Check out my sodhi recipe which is similar to this recipe. From next week on wards i will be posting no onion no garlic recipes for a month. Stay tunes for interesting recipes coming up.

CHOCOLATE PEDA MODAK | PEDA MODAK RECIPE

chocolate peda- modak
Peda modak is a popular one made by Maharastrians during Ganesh Chathurthi festival. As i mentioned in my khoya stuffed modak  post, i have a lot of maharastian friends here and they make the celebration too elaborate. They keep the Ganpathi at home for 3-5 days and all the days it will be like a festival for them. We will be invited for Dharshan and they will visit as many houses as possible for Ganpathi dharshan. Being born and brought up in South India, for me it is very interesting to know about the tradition followed by them. I still remember the kids of friends will cry when they do the Visargen of Ganpathi (immersion of ganesha idol). Maharastians make modak with khoya and they call it as Khoya | Mawa modak. The same pedas which we make for Diwali will be made as a prasadh for Ganpathi. They make varieties of modak and few of my friends make eggless cakes too for neivedhyam. This chocolate peda modak also made in some houses for this Ganesh chathurti festival. I have adapted this recipe from Sanjeev kapoor's recipe. Try out this easy peda recipe and check my other Ganesh Chathurti recipes too.
Wish you all a very Happy Ganesh Chathurthi
