VAALAKAAI KOOTU RECIPE | RAW BANANA KOOTU - KOOTU RECIPES
Vazhakkai kootu or Raw banana kootu is a nice variation to the usual vaalakkai cuury and podimas. In our home, we used to make this during any poojas performed at home and for over all for for all traditional functions performed at home.the recipe includes chilies,tamarind,jaggery and thus gives a great taste when mixed with plain rice or as a accompaniment for any other rice.

HAPPY DEEPAVALI WISHES TO U ALL
Hi friends, for the past 4 days i was very busy in preparing sweets and savouries for deepavli and couldnt post any recipe. Managing two kids and doing all these things really made me very busy.
Now we all have come into a festive mood and ready to welcome the festival .
My daughter put mehndhi in both hands and i decorated the house with thoranams.
I made murruku,ribbon pakoda, mullu murruku, and coming to sweets,i made kajukatli,coconut burfi and nei(ghee) urundai.
Will meet u all soon with some interesting posts .

CAULIFLOWER MANCHURIAN RECIPE - SEMI GRAVY
As mentioned in my previous post, i am posting the cauliflower manchurian gravy recipe, which i made as a side for Fried rice. Check out my cauliflower dry manchurian and Gobi 65 recipe.

CAULIFLOWER | 1 MEDIUM FLOWER |
ONION | 2 BIG NOS. |
GARLIC | 4 PODS |
GINGER | 1/2 INCH |
GREEN CHILLI | 3 NOS. |
CAPSICUM | 1/2 NO. |
CORNFLOUR | 2 TBLSP |
MAIDA | 1 TBLSP |
REDCHILLI POWDER | 1/2 TSP |
TOMATO SAUCE | 1 TSP |
SOYA SAUCE | 1/2 TSP |
PEPPER POWDER | 1/2 TSP |
OIL | FOR FRYING |
METHOD:
- Cut the cauliflower into big florets and immerse it into boiling water. Keep it inside for 2 mins. Drain the water and pat dry in a kitchen towel. In a bowl add one tblsp of corn flour , maida , redchilli powder and required salt and make it as a thin batter by adding water to it.
- In a pan, add oil required for frying . dip the cauliflower florets in the batter and fry it in the oil and drain the excess oil using kitchen towel. Keep it aside.
- Chop the onions, garlic,ginger,green chillies very finely. Cut the capsicum into cubes.
- In a pan, add 2 tblsp of oil and add the finely chopped onion, green chilli ,ginger one by one and saute for few minutes, till it becomes golden brown. When it is done, add the cubed capsicum and saute for few minutes and add the tomato sauce and soya sauce and pepper powder.
- Add little bit of salt and remember the sauce contains salt and also we have added salt in the cauliflower.
- Now add the fried cauliflower to it and coat it nicely with the masala.
- If you want to serve this as dry manchurian just stop with this step.
- Now mix the another tblsp of corn flour in 1/2 cup of water and add to the cauliflower . Mix it nicely.Keep it in a medium flame for 2 to 3 mins . Switch off the stove. Garnish with the green part of spring onion . Enjoy with Fried rice.

Vegetable Rice is a common dish in my home,which i make once a week,since my hubby likes it very much. But always make raitha for that. Very rarely i make cauliflower manchurian for this. Though we all like the manchurian, since it is deep fried we avoid making this often. After a long time i made both the vegetable rice and cauliflower manchurian. GREEN MOONG DAL SUBZI RECIPE

I too make in a different way, but after tasting this dal in my friends place, almost a year back, i decided to make this in that way since we all like that . Carrot paneer paratha, a popular Indian flat bread stuffed with paneer. I have added carrot also to make it healthier. Normally i make rotis for dinner .But when I attempted to make paratha first time ,we all like it and now a days i make paratas twice a week.
