Using condensed milk- ready in 10 minutes – with 3 ingredients Gokulashtami recipes
When i came to Singapore four years back, my hubby’s friend’s wife sent a box of Thiratipal which tasted awesome and when i called and thanked her and she told me that she made the Thiratipal in Microwave and she made with condensed milk. Those days i never know that we can search for recipes in Internet and i called her again and noted down the recipe. After that i tried that once .Later , i totally forgot about the recipe. Two days back, suddenly i remembered about that recipe and saw in that note book which i have noted the recipe and made it yesterday and since i don’t have Microwave at my place , i went to my friend’s place and made the thiratipal. This got ready in 10 minutes and the taste was too good .

INGREDIENTS:(YIELDS 1 CUP)
CONDENSED MILK | 1 CAN(480 ML) |
YOGURT | 3 TBLSP |
GHEE | BUTTER | 1/2 TBLSP |
METHOD:
- Grease a microwave safe bowl, (take a bigger one) with ghee or butter.
- Open the condensed milk and pour it fully into the bowl and add the yogurt.
- Keep it in Microwave high for10 minutes and stir in between(every 40 seconds)
- After 10- 12 minutes this will come to a good thriatipal consistency.
- Even it is slightly loose don’t bother, it will get thick when cooled down.
- Mine got done in 12 minutes. the timing differs from each microwave.
Note:
- I have seen in a blog that you can add a tblsp of cocoa powder in the beginning and make a chocolate flavored thriatipal.
- You can garnish with chopped pistachios or badams .
- A pinch of saffron can be added to enhance the flavor.

Deleteoh thank u for your info jeyashri... but am worried because i hate yogurt...
DeleteI assure you never get the smell or any touch of yogurt in the taste when it is done. So you can proceed
Deletewill try this soon :)
ReplyDeletewith the same ingredients, instead of curd, we can use nonfat dry milk powder and add some cardamon pwder

ReplyDeleteHi Jeyashri,
ReplyDeleteTried this today. It came out really very good. Enjoyed it. I hope my kid enjoys it too, as I made it exclusively for her birthday today :-).
Hi Jeyashri,
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy!!!! Can this be done in a gas stove top/induction? If so please let me know how do I go about making this.
Hi Sharon
Deletethis can be made on the stove top too. But it is bit time consuming. But worth trying.
In that case boil 1 liter of milk stirring constantly till it reduces to semi solid consistency. Add 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar according to you sweet taste. This will be bit thick after cooling down.
Thanks a lot for the reply Jeyashri, it came out really well... and tasted heavenly!!! Thank you so much...
DeleteTried today...well tasted awsome! thanks :)
DeleteI tried this and was a big success! Thank you so much,I also tried your other recipes - idli batter,Mysore pak and peda, all were a big hit! You are the queen of sweets! Love it and looking forward to more.
ReplyDeleteRegards
Aparna
i tried the same but all the condensed came out of the bowl in the microwave oven...then i tried the rest in the nonstick vessel on the stove :(..now it is sticky
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteThe most important thing is the vessel must be big than the contents inside. Else it will come out from the bowl while cooking in Microwave. Stove top it will be sticky only
Hi Jeyashri,Tried this recipe and came out very well. Thanks for the quick & easy recipe :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jeyashri,Tried this recipe and came out very nice. Thanks for the quick & easy recipe :)
ReplyDeletehello mam,.,, i have a small doubt... should i add jaggery or sugar for the sweetness. and how to get the "aavin" style pal khoa...
ReplyDeleteIf you add jaggery it will curdle. I tried it once. Don't know what is the secret behind aavin
DeleteShall I use evaporated milk instead of condensed milk??
ReplyDeleteNo Akila not sure how it will come as evaporated milk will be thin and also contains no sweet
