Method :

  • Keep all the chutneys ready.
  • Boil the potato and chop them into small cubes.
  • Mix a pinch of salt to this. I didn't do this as the chutneys has enough of salt and i felt that it is enough.
  • Dilute the chutneys if they are too thick.
  • I did this for my red garlic chutney only.
  • Finely chop the onion, tomato (take out the seeds inside) and coriander leaves.
  • In a bowl add the yogurt and add in the sugar, salt, cumin powder and chaat masala.
  • Mix well using a whisk without any lumps.
  • I am using red chili garlic chutney in this dahi batata puri, so need to add red chili powder to the yogurt.
  • If you are not using the theeki red chutney, add little red chili powder to the yogurt and mix well.
  • Place the pooris on a plate.
  • Make a hole in the center of the pooris.
  • Add the potatoes inside each puris.
  • Add in the chutneys one by one.
  • Add the spiced yogurt to this pooris.
  • Put the onions and tomatoes one by one into each of the puri.
  • Sprinkle the sev on the top of the puris, generously.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.

Notes:

  1. You can add some boiled chole inside the puris and skip potato.
  2. Even ragda can also be filled inside inside of potato.
  3. Dahi batata puris should be served immediately else it will become soggy soon.
