Coconut coriander chutney recipe

Coconut coriander chutney, ginger flavoured coconut chutney, recipe with step wise pictures. This coconut coriander chutney is a very regular affair in our home. Whenever i ask my Varsha, what chutney she wants for idli|dosa, without any second thought she will say green coconut chutney. Though i am a big fan of thenga chutney i often make this chutney too. But since it is a very simple one i never thought of posting the recipe of the coconut coriander chutney. Recently when she was browsing the recipe index of jeyashri's kitchen, she casually asked me, why the recipe of my favorite chutney is not available in the website. So i made it for the again and posting the recipe today. The recipe is nothing fancy and no such precise measurements you have to follow. Just go ahead and alter the quantity of  ingredients little here and there to suit your taste.

Caramel Popcorn recipe

Caramel popcorn, home made caramel popcorn recipe, with step by step pictures, using dry corn kernels and sugar. Popcorn is the one we always enjoy during movies. When we were kids we used to get popcorns outside theaters in small packets and mostly i have tasted the salted version of popcorn. Later when the multiplex theaters started we used to get a variety of popcorn. Though i don't prefer sweet version of popcorn my kids love the caramel popcorn. I have made caramel popcorn for them at home twice but never clicked the pictures to post the recipe. Yesterday while organising the kitchen shelfs found some little corn kernels and thought i will make the caramel popcorn for kids snack box. They loved it very much and packed few extra for their friends too. I have seen many adding roasted peanuts to this caramel popcorn, being a peanut lover i am too tempted to do this but i thought i will post a separate caramel peanut urundai or chikki recipe.

Congress Kadalekai recipe, Masala peanuts

Congress Kadalekai, masala peanuts, recipe with video and step wise pictures. Congress Kadalekai is  a popular spicy tea time snack of Karnataka made using peanuts. I don't know why they call it as Congress Kadalekai but heard about that a lot. Recently when one of our friend visited Bangalore for vacation, i told him to get few bangalore famous snacks. One among them was Congress Kadalekai. I tasted them for the first time. He got that from the famous Variar bakery Bangalore. I am wanted to try that but i am always scared of the mess the raw peanuts creates after roasting and rubbing the skin off.  So I kept on postponing to make this Congress Kadalekai.
Recently i saw Roasted unsalted peanuts in Sri Murugan stores, Singapore, while i visited to buy my Grocery. I have many time seen un roasted big size peanuts but this one was in normal size and i picked up the 500 gm packet immediately and put into my Grocery bag. For my friends in Singapore, you can find this roasted unsalted peanuts in Sri Murugan stores. It is packed quite well. Also you can make Verkadalai urundai using this same roasted peanuts too. Sri Murugan stores delivers island wide and they have a wide variety of Indian groceries and fresh vegetables. You can use Sri Murugan stores mobile app to place your order.

Schezwan Paneer Paratha recipe

Schezwan paneer paratha, paneer cooked in schezwan sauce stuffed inside paratha. Recently i tasted Schezwan paneer in a restaurant here in Singapore and wanted to try that at home. But always making of Schezwan sauce is a lazy thing for me, yes the garlic chopping part is the laziest one for me. Finally few days back i overcome my laziness and made this Schezwan sauce in a bulk quantity. Yes my kids love the flavour of schezwan sauce so i made little extra so that i can make fried rice nd noodles for them. I first wanted to post Schezwan paneer tikka but then later felt, stuffed paratha will be more flavourful and kids also will enjoy it after they come back from school. So tried Schezwan paneer paratha and it turned out so well and being a ardent fan of parathas i just finished one paratha immediately after clicking the pictures. Do try this Schezwan paneer paratha at home and let me know it turned out.

Getti chutney recipe, South Indian chutney recipes

Getti chutney, the traditional south Indian coconut chutney served in restaurants, pairs well with bonda and bajji. It is nothing but a thick coconut chutney but if you ask any typical south Indian foodie, they will tell you how everyone will crave for this getti chutney. When i posted thavala vadai recipe i mentioned that i will post the recipe of getti chutney but some how it was forgotten. Yesterday i made this to pair with thavala dosai | thavala adai ( will post the recipe soon). I clicked the thengai chutney recipe with step by step pictures and finally posting the recipe of getti chutney today.
In our family everyone are a great fan of getti chutney, we have a lot of stories for this and if i talk about that, i will never get into the recipe. Our most favorite memory is visting Madurai Gopu Iyengar kadai around 3 pm and enjoying Vellaiappam with Getti Chutney. They both are match made in heaven. The smell of the chutney takes me back to those childhood days.

Thengai milagai podi recipe , How to make coconut milagai podi

Thengai Milagai podi, a perfect pair for idli dosa, made with the addition of coconut to the usual Idli milagai podi. I still remember my childhood days when amma used to make this in bulk and we used to eat it like how kids eat sugar from the box. I have posted Thengai podi recipe but Thengai molagapodi is different. Thengai podi we generally mix with hot rice and ghee and eat. Thengai milgai podi we generally smear on Idli, Dosa. This doesn't stay too long like usual milagai podi due to the addition of coconut but still perfect for travel. It has been ages since i made or tasted this thenga molagapodi. Infact, i haven't tried it in my 18 years of cooking. Recently remembered of this while talking with my sister. As amma is holidaying in US now, i couldn't call her at my convenience but somehow spoke to her and got the recipe. She also recollected our madness for thengai milgai podi, including my patti  who is crazy lover of this podi. If you are a molagapodi lover, do try this at home and i am sure you will love it. The first bite of it with idli took me to my childhood days. Can you relate to that feelings 😃
