Chutney without coconut
It has been a long time since i posted a recipe in the category Side dish for Idli | dosa. This carrot chutney, though not very regular, but i make when i run out of tomatoes. A very simple chutney and best way to make kids eat carrots too. I just made it in my Kara chutney style , with few alterations. We all loved the taste and it tasted so yum with Dosai. Try out this Carrot Chutney and even you can have with parathas too.

ReplyDeletejeyashree akka, i added the carrot and onions along with tamarind, urad & red chilli by mistake and fried and grinded, it gave a different taste. is it becausec of the tamarind in oil for the long time
ReplyDeleteIt's ok to add like that. It will taste good only. May be the tamarind would have burnt or too much of tamarind would have added.
DeleteHi Jeyashri, this is from Canada and O tried out this chutney. It came out good. The tanginess n sweet flavours were just right. I substituted tamarind for tamarind pulp and it came out just fine. I added a little grated cocunut while grinding too. Thank you so much for this chutney receipe.
