Erissery recipe | How to make erissery

Erissery is a kerala special dish made for Onam, and made mostly with yellow pumpkin,called as Mathanga erissery. I remember my mom makes this but i have never made tried this on my own or tasted it after marriage. As my athai is very fond of this erissery, she makes this more when she comes to our house for summer vacation. I asked my mom for the recipe and she sent me a voice note in What's app about how to make erissery. I am so happy that she started learning to operate smart phones. This version of erissery is my mom's way of making it and i am not sure the authentic kerala erissery recipe. It tasted so yum and i had it with rice and vendakkai curry.

Stuffed Capsicum recipe | Stuffed Shimla Mirch

Stuffed capsicum | Bharwan Shimla mirch , I wanted to try for a long time and finally i tried  this last month. I gave this for Kungumam Thozi magazine for the month of November. We can do a lot of variations to the stuffing, i have given few options in the notes section at the end of the post. This stuffed capsicum went well with rice and roti. Thinai Ven Pongal | Millet recipes

Wish you all a very Happy New year 2016. I wanted to start the New year with a healthy recipe and so made this Thinai Ven pongal today and posting the same. Pongal is a staple South Indian breakfast. During my very short vacation to Chennai last week, i got organic thinai | foxtail millet. Both my brother in law and his wife , left their IT job and doing organic farming in a small village near Pondicherry. This foxtail millet is grown in their field and i got it from them freshly after few days of harvest. But due to weight constraints i couldn't carry much here to Singapore. I have already posted the recipe of Ven pongal in the style which my mil makes it. But this Thinai ven pongal i have made it in my mom's style which is my most favorite too. Both my mom and mil are experts in making ven pongal. Try out this healthy Thinai ven pongal and start the day with a healthy breakfast. Shahi semiya badam kheer | Indian dessert recipes

Semiya kheer and badam kheer is a common Indian dessert. I recently tasted this Shahi semiya badam kheer and was totally moved by its taste. Without a second thought planned to make this for New year 2016. It turned out very well . The texture of this payasam was thick and not like kheer, so i made it also like that. The year 2015 went amazing well in all ways. Thank you so much to all my readers, my well wishers, my family for your consistent support. Green peas is in season now. I have given this kurma recipe for Aval vikatan supplement, which i did a year back. This peas kurma| peas korma| pattani kurma, goes well with poori, chapathi and even for biryani too. I have given this for the book as Mushroom peas kurma. Finally i tried this sometime back to post during Christmas. It turned out pretty well. In this recipe i have given both the option of making it in oven and pressure cooker. Cauliflower poriyal is a very simple and easy poriyal , and even a perfect bachelor recipe too. I made this and clicked last year itself but pictures didn't turn out nice, so i didn't post. Chitranna is a easy rice varietyof karnataka and can be packed for lunch box too. It is more similar to the kandae poha which we make using aval | poha. I learnt this from my friend who taught me the andhra pulihore. If you have cooked rice in hand this recipe can be made in a jiffy. I am out of station for the next 10 days. Garlic Almond Soup | Soup recipes

Garlic almond soup, is a perfect one for this cold weather. Last year i have given this recipe for Kungumam thozi supplement themed "soups and salads". This recipe was a super hit at our house. I tried this with bottle gourd when i gave this for the supplement book. While i was doing this again for the post last week, i don't have bottle gourd at home and so replaced it with potato. the soup was quite thick and creamy and yum. Name it a creamy potato soup or almond soup or garlic soup, it is a flavourful soup and quite filling too. Try this out at home and let me know how it turned out.
